And 32 Arrives...

I have to admit that I stopped looking forward to my birthday after I turned 30. I somehow dont feel as young as before and the fact that my age starts with a big 3 just isnt fun!
Well, tht's just me. It just isnt that fun and the same anymore celebrating my birthday looking at 3 huge candles on the cake :)
Ok ok...I know age is just a number and I should just embrace being a woman in her 30s....Ok...I will try.....just need some time :)

Anyway, we had a double celebration on my birthday this year because it was also Mother's Day that day. We had 2 celebration that weekend; first a Mother's Day dinner at South Sea Restaurant on the 12th and then at Dancing Fish Restaurant in BSC on my birthday the next day. As much as I sorta dread turning 32, I truly enjoyed myself those 2 days being surrounded by my loved ones. Everyone (mom, dad, sis, bro, hubby & of cos my two munchkins!) turned up for dinner on both days and we had loads of fun chatting, joking and enjoying the yummilicious food during those 2 days.

At Dancing Fish @ 3rd Floor, BSC
Nice ambience and damn GOOD food!
Highly recommended!

Shot by Zach :)

Zach said it should start with Roy's name cos he's the youngest.....isnt my boy sweet or what? :)

Instagrammed!

They chose the cake that they love :D

So.....do I look forward to my 33rd???? Nope! Not yet......Let's just let me enjoy my 32nd :D

My Roy

Roy, my almost 4yo boy has been quite a chatterbox lately...he just wouldnt stop talking! Not that I'm complaining anyway. He's been quite an entertainer lately with his non-stop chatters and we are amused at times by the new words and verbal expressions he comes up with...
Scenario #1
*referring to my question of asking him his favorite Power Ranger characters*
Roy: i like all colors except black & red
Me: oh. So u dont like black and red?
Roy: no! I like all colors except black & red
*I finally figured he actually meant to say that he likes all of them INCLUDING black & red*
He seems to want to put the words that he learnt to use but somehow got his meanings haywire. Haha!
Scenario #2
Singing to the tune of "If you're happy and you know it..."
Roy: if you're happy and you know it BE NAUGHTY!
*Zach & I couldnt stop laughing when we first heard him sang this...*

Scenario #3
Roy: mommy. Can we go Japan?
Me: why do you wanna go to Japan?
Roy: bcos I wanna eat unagi, tempura, egg & rice
*ya! He actually meant he wanna go to a Japanese Restaurant. Yes! Those are his favorite food and Yes! He knows the menu by heart!*
Scenario #4
*having a conversation with daddy about the monsters from Ultraman - his favorite hero*
Daddy: what is this called? (holding a figurine of a monster)
Roy: His name is Gamurah
Daddy: oh! Gumbra!
Roy: no! He is Ga-mu-rah. L.O.R.Y. - GA-MU-RAH!
*he actually spelt out those letters (LORY) addresing to the word "Gamurah" tho he doesnt hav a clue on how the word is spelled exactly. He just wanted to correct his daddy on the right pronunciation. *
Needless to say - daddy was bemused and yet finds it hilarious....
Those are just some of his conversations we had with Roy lately that I felt I should blog about for my memory sake....and to think that we had a fear that he might have a speech problem when he couldnt even utter a single word even after his 2nd birthday! This fella is such a joy to hav around and of cos we are thankful that we didnt hav to make the trip to see a speech therapist we initially planned to.
And he has mastered the skill in memorising and reciting The Lord's Prayer! At the tender age of 3! Word by word! We couldnt be more proud :)

My beloved BFF! She is the one who stood by me through thick and thin (cliche but true) and she is one who would not hide her feelings, thoughts, and opinions from me. Yes! she is one sharp shooter when it comes to conversations and I truly adore and cherish this friendship I found 14 years ago! Glad that I found her and glad that she came into my life! Love this girl to bits!

My macho back from tennis workshop.....

I love discovering toys left behind by my boys, especially Roy. It's as if they are marking their territories in the house and all these small lil gestures just put a smile on my face. Dont ask me why but I just love seeing scenes like this around the house....

My MEN, My BOSSES, My LIFE, My EVERYTHING! Cant imagine my life without any of them!

And January 2012 arrives...

So...the most significant events that took place in January for me so far would be my boys stepping into the next phase of their lives - school!

Roy started kindy and Zach is hopping onto Year ONE! Mommy and daddy were equally anxious and excited for both of them....I actually got quite emotional seeing both my boys grow right in front of my very own eyes......those were the days when both were babies.....and now....look at them!

My baby #2 looking all grown up in his uniform...*sniff sniff*
He was actually the tougher one of my 2 boys...not a single tears from him when he first entered the school compound, unlike Zach who wailed and threw tantrums for 3 days straight when he was there...As we have already knew all along, Roy is emerging to be a tougher cookie than his ko ko.....happily going to school every morning and easily bidding goodbye to me whenever I drop him off.....

All excited and happy after school...

My firstborn is finally entering Year ONE! Yes...mommy got emotional all over again seeing my boy looking fully grown up in his new set of uniform......

My independent boy during meal time....

Finally a pic with mommy after a longggggggg 1st day!

I got quite emotional lately when school resumes and when both my boys are in their individual schools......I can feel the silence and their absence after dropping Roy off to his school every morning; coming home to an empty house. It's the first time in 7 years for me to come home without any of my boys greeting me at the door.....it finally dawned on me that my boys are really grown up now! and soon........REALLY SOON........they'll be flying off the nest and leading their own lives.......
NO! I DONT WANT MY BABIES TO GROW SO FAST!!!!!!! uwaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

Hello 2012....

Hello there 2.0.1.2....

Was looking back at my blog and noticed that i only had FOUR posts in 2.0.1.1!
FOUR freaking posts!!!!! ok....so....one would think that "She's not freaking working and yet she sounded so busy!"
Well...truth is...I WAS and WILL ALWAYS BE BUSY! I'm a busy mom! so what??? Yes...by choice and I'm happy about it!
I'm not only a mother as per say...I'm also a personal chauffeur, a chef, personal trainer (dont ask why), nurse, and the list goes on.....and most of all, I'm A WIFE :)

well, I'm kinda disappointed with myself tho....cos I once vowed to blog more often and to be actively blogging again...like how I used to back in those days.....
anyway.....the new year has just begun and I shall make it my resolution to blog more often.....tho I dont guarantee tht resolution might come true as the days go by......hehehehe

Anyway.....lets look back on the events that took place/happened to me last year....

It didnt start of smoothly I would say cos I got into some medical scare with my own health and was in and out the hospitals numerous times for all those checks, tests and treatments to get things confirmed and reassured.....no worries, I'm all fine now.. :)

Some friendship ties were broken and they remain the same til today.....I was down and I was sad....but life has to go on and I chose to live mine happily - thus a promise not to dwell much in the past and look forward to the future instead.....

However year 2011 ended with a few memorable events I would say......well, thats what life is about isnt it? with its ups and downs....

ok....pics say a thousand words....be prepared for a loooooooooooooooooooog post full of pics from MY 2011!

We brought my parents on our maiden trip to CHINA in April 2011! Yes! Our first time ever (hubby & I) stepping on the soil of the 'motherland' of our ancestors! Mom & dad had the time of their lives for it was dad's dream to visit the Beijing and we made it all happened for him *getting emo*. And as a bonus, we also visited Shanghai!
*pic above was taken at the back gate of Forbidden City*

How can one not visit this iconic landmark of Beijing? - The Forbidden City - home to a few emperors & empresses and thousands of concubines! Crazy emperors and their obnoxious lifestyles!

:)

My boy on top of the steps to the Temple of Heaven - a temple built by the emperors in hope that they'd be closer to God when they pray and meditate! Hah!

At the garden at Temple of Heaven - the whole place is MASSIVELY HUGE!

The Great Wall of China!

Dad's beaming with happiness upon seeing his dream materialised....Love Love Love this pic!

And Roy turns 3 in Beijing!

The Bird Nest built specially for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Yu Garden - SHANGHAI!

One of the many lakes in Yu Garden

One of my heart melters of all time....love this shot!

The two heart-melters of all time.....These are the 2 bosses of my life! They rule my life, they dictate my life, they ARE MY life! They mightt drive me up the walls at times, but I WILL NEVER replace them for anything in this world!

The iconic tower (forgot its name) @ The Bund - Shanghai

On top of the tower which is made of glass! Looking back, we were actually at great risk! It was over 200 ft fr sea level! Look at those tiny cars underneath!

The Bund - Shanghai
Ok.....enough of pics from China.....

Club Med Cherating! our 2nd time there! - September 2011

Cousin Lily's wedding in Nov - 6 pretty maidens of the Yeoh-Ngew clan out of which 4 are mothers :D

My #1 boss! My LOVE! My other half!

My baby brother is finally 21!!!!! - Dec 2011

On our annual family trip overseas and we chose HK ...yes! again...this is our 2nd trip to Disneyland AND the city!

in 2011 when Zach was 6.5yo and.....

this was when he was 4 back in 2009!

Our family portrait with Mickey & Minnie in 2009....

Our family portrait with Donald in 2011!

With Goofy back in 2009 and 2011 (his growth and height are obviously measured here on Goofy! haha)! Roy didnt hav the chance cos he was in his stroller (yes, he was only a 14 month-old baby then who hasnt started walking just yet) most of the time hiding in the air-conditioned cafe because it was an extremely hot summer @ Disneyland when we visited back in 2009!

Not anymore!!!! Both boys having the time of their lives this trip! They especially adore Goofy!

They refused to hav a pic taken with Minnie tho she was just a few steps away from Pluto simple because "Minnie is only for girls!"...sigh....there goes mommy's desire to be near Minnie :(

Daddy getting all smoochy and romantic.... :)

Christmas @ Pacific Place - a mall below where we stayed in the city....
That pic sums up our almost-perfect trip to HK that time if not for the unfortunate incident where my wallet was pickpocketed from my bag! Was in Tung Chung for some shopping after checking out from Disneyland hotel when my wallet was unexpectedly stolen from my bag! Culprit used my credit cards and made some jewelry purchases worth almost RM20k! Anyway, those charges hav since been reversed by the banks and I/m not liable for those purchases. However the roaming phone calls I made to report my loss to the bank cost me a whopping RM270! And the bank charged me RM250 for whatever process fee required for the investigation of my fraud case. All in all, I not only lost my beloved wallet; the cash inside; I had to fork out an extra RM520 bucks for nothing! I curse whoever who took my wallet to hav continuous mishaps in their lives - one after another! Yes! I can be mean and I can be venomous!

Hubby hit the BIG 40 in Dec 21, 2011! We held a small party in a lil Italian restaurant and he was surrounded by all his beloved family members and a couple of good friends to celebrate his entering into the new phase in his life......

Turning 40 in style...as posed by his chipmunk #2....

A proud daddy of 2 at 40!

And my own daddy dearest turns 61 on Dec 29!

ok...that pretty sums up my first post for 2012.....more to come I hope ...yes....more often too!

Cheers to a great and better 2012 for me and all of you!
