1 Year Younger!

The birthday in 2008 marks another major change in my life....I'm a birthday mother of 2!

It was a simple celebration the day before the exact day when Xiu, Vicky and Nat dropped by with a cute lil cake and a bouquet of white roses for me! I was touched by the thoughtful gesture! Thanks gal! Also to S.May, Kelly, CL (I'm touched by your call all the way fr HK!), and RL for the lovely gift........I'm truly delighted and touched til the bottom of my heart for ur thoughtfulness!

Well, I not only had a cake for my birthday this year - in fact 2! when hubby bought another yummylicious chocolate cake with simple but meaningful wordings on it.......it says there "Happy Birthday Mummy! From Zach and Roy!" - my 2 lovely boys!

Needless to say.... I was again touched til the most bottom of my heart!

On another note - It was my very first birthday throughtout my entire life having 2 birthday cakes at the same time! haha.... I know I sound a bit swaku....but it's TRUE!

A bit 'charn' - no make up...still in confinement!

Bad luck? not only me!

I was reading my frens' blogs after my own posting and found out that 2 of them also met with car accidents last week and this week!
Now...this really got me thinking......we are all of the same age and zodiac - Monkey....is this how the Monkeys gonna end their Pig Year? with car accidents and bad oments?
Not that I'm superstitious...but I cant help thinking about it....May God Bless us and shield us away from the bad oments!

Well.....like what Samantha said...."Thank goodness it's only minor accidents....let them be the ones to 'shoo' away the major ones which might occur!"

NO MORE BAD LUCK!!!!!

CNY? so what?

Same feeling.....same mood.....
I do not need to repost my feelings towards the Lunar New Year celebration this year......I've blogged about it last year and as much as I thought I could at least feel better about the celebration the subsequent year, the same ol' feelings just creeped up in me......the dreadful mood I feel each year......onthe days leading up to our trip back to KT.......

Happened all at once!

Just when I thought all things will go well and am looking forward to the CNY (not that I'm anticipating it that much...) and our getaway holiday to Bali thereafter (yeah! am looking forward mroe to this!)..............the bad vibes just have to happen this week...the final week of the lunar year before the arrival of the Rat year....
sigh......
But I take it in a stride when Samantha consoled me by saying that "let the small things happen to deter away the big bad oments...." well......I believe in you, Sam!

ok.....how it happened u may ask...hmm..where should I start? it's all jumbled up.....

First of all...just when I thought Zach was finally alright and up and about after a bout of flu and cough he contracted in school..... Daddy said, "Let's break the reacord Zach! Go to school for a whole full week this week!"...I was like "Yeah.....let's break the record man!"
U see...ever since the school started and my boy took his first steps in school, he has never completed a full week of attendance...it's either a fever, flu or cough! So we thought...for the final week before the end of the month, we are hoping that he could at least complete the attendance without being absent or whatever....

Well, no...it's not gonna happen anytime soon. He came back with a slight fever....yeah! again! after school on Monday! There goes!!!!!!!! Skipping school again the next day itself!
And just when I thought it's just gonna be a mild fever like any other fever he's got the weeks before........more in store after what happened next.....

Before I continue with Zach's 'exciting' frontier............
I met with a minor car accident on my way back from takign Zach to the clinic! yeah.....how unlucky! to cut a long story short, I knocked the rear side of a Mercedes Benz at a roundabout near my house and all in all.....it cost me RM750 for the compensation to the Benz owner and the repair of my own car bumper! Big hole in the pocket......

And just when I thought that the bad luck is finally over.......it's not.......AGAIN!!!!! We found some red spots on Zach's hands and legs the next morning (today) and the first thing that struck my mind was Gosh!!! Please dont let it be the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD)...My worst fear was confirmed when we took him to the doctor. Not only that, he is the 3rd HFMD patient the doc saw today and they are all from Zach's school! - The first one reported this year on January 15!
Our first reaction was "how could the school not do anything about it? or at least have the courtesy to inform us, parents? It's been a freaking 2 weeks! Perhaps it could have been prevented if only they took more precaution about it!" And when I called the school, I was informed that 2 of Zach's classmates are confirmed victims of such disease as of today!...Zach being the 3rd one!

Things and fears parents go through........

Now that he's got it.....we cant do much about it as there's no medication or vaccinations for this airborne virus just yet and the only thing we could do for now is to pray and hope that the virus will finally leave his body and that his ulcers and rashes will go off by itself in a week's time!

......Am wondering what else is in store next.............No more please! I'm stressed enough.......it's not good for my pregnancy!!!!

Happy 2008!

HAPPY 2008 PEOPLE!!!

I'm way overdue in posting in here but as I was surfing through my fellow bloggers' pages.......nothing much are updated either....guess everyone was busy with the holiday season and couldnt really bother to blog....

Well.....I bet everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's celebration just as I did! not to mention the big holes in the pocket for Christmas and birthday gifts! Well, it's once a year....all for the smiles on the recipients' faces....

As a yearly affair, we had hubby's birthday celebration on the 21st Dec to get the heat of the holiday season started. This year's birthday celebration is an exceptionally emotional and happy occasion for daddy because daddy could finally get to hear Zach wishing him in clear and exact words - "Happy Birthday, Daddy!" with hugs and kisses...That was daddy's best birthday gift!

Christmas parties for me started a few days before the actual date and I must say I truly enjoyed myself this time around, despite the fact that I had a bad wisdom toothache from 21st til 26th Dec! Yeah...I was given the BEST Christmas gift of all, this season....I take it as a punishment from God for not being a regular in church. Nevertheless, I guess He forgave me and alleviated me from the pain a day after Christmas when I got the tooth removed in a small surgery! Anyway, I started to enjoy the season at CL's house where all my close schoolmates gathered and we had a wonderful Christmas gathering there. It was fun and merriment that we shall cherish as we age! This of course, after I dunk in dozens of painkillers to alleviate the agony I was going through 2 days before the gathering.

I managed a sweet smile here despite having a terrible toothache! All thanks to the miraculous painkillers!

The 'angels' of the night - Christmas @ CL's on 23rd Dec.

Well, the celebration was all not too noisy and I am thankful and glad that I got to celebrate the occasion with close family members this time around. We were not around last Christmas and it was exceptionally meaningful this time because Zach is able to wish mommy and daddy "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!" And not to mention, he got to enjoy the celebration this time around and understand more about the meaning of Christmas (of course not the part when Jesus was born and all.....but the part when it's meant to be sharing and giving) He was the happiest of all distributing gifts (on mommy and daddy's behalf) to his cousins, aunties and uncles! Of course also the part when he got to rip off all his gifts and happily playing with the toys he received!

A happy boy @ Christmas...

Didn't know which to open first!

As for the New Year's celebration, it was a quiet and last-minute arranged small party at our friend's place with the kids enjoying themselves with toys and cartoons and the adults with "Pictionary!" Boy, it was almost a decade ago since we came across the game and I must say we really had the night heated up competing between the men and women! Well, the men proved it all that they have got the charm and BRAIN by emerging the winners of the night! We, women consoled ourselves that we did marry the some SMART blokes afterall...hahahaha.
What's a new year celebration without the fireworks? It all ended the way we imagined and here's to another fruitful year! CHEERS!

MAY YOU ALL BE BLESSED WITH A GREAT YEAR FILLED WITH PROSPERITY, LOVE, PEACE, AND MOST OF ALL, HAPPINESS IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!

A tree..finally....

The first year we got married - Broke! A month after the wedding... NO allocation for it!
The subsequent year - just got pregnant; hence wait for the baby's arrival!
The 3rd year - Zach's still so young., he probably doesnt understand what Christmas is all about, let alone a tree? So, no need to get it!
The fourth year - Christmas in Spore. No point getting it!
The fifth year - "I think it's about time we get that free we've been thinking about since 4 years ago!," I told hubby. "Zach, do you want a Christmas tree?" "Yes!"

So off we went hunting for one! First to Ikea for all the decoratives....was told it was cheaper there...maklumlah, semua benda mahal mahal sekarang....boleh jimat tu, jimat la setakat mana yang boleh! Couldnt find any tree there except for the real ones! No way! And buy another one next year? A waste of our precious money, isnt it?

Then off to One U for the perfect tree! Found one which I fell in love with but unfortunately "Stok habis la!" was the reply from the guy at Living Quarters. How dissappointed we were....sigh....Things dont always go our way, do they?

Well, so we settled for a not-so-nice tree...or so we thought. Slightly cheaper but looks alright...a tree is still a freaking tree!!!!

There! Nice and steady.....a seven-footer...I'm a kiasu.....saw the 6 footer and thought it was too small....decided on the 7 footer! Now we are all towered by the tree in the house! It's a 8-footer plus that huge star!

Must admit that I miss those time we had decorating the tree at mom's place. It happens every single year...no miss!!!! We would excitedly take the tree out from the box and put up the decoratives one by one until the whole tree is full and nice. So being unable to do so for the past 4 years since I got married really got me missing the excitement of putting up the tree.

So there I was...sitting down there patiently opening up the leaves one by one and finally getting all the decoratives up and about! Not with some disturbance from my lil rascal every now and then and not to mention, some voice-raising on "Zach! Dont throw the balls like that. You are gonna break them!" "Zach! Stop pulling those leaves!" "Zach! dont shake the tree like that!" "Zach! don't touch those light bulbs!".....well....the stress about putting up a tree with a toddler around!

Finally! Our very own golden Christmas tree!

I'm all geared up for the celebration! Pressies to buy and wrap (the best part of all)..but before that....the agonising thoughts of what to buy for whom....urgh! It's never an easy task! Worse still for the men the family! It is just so difficult to find the right gifts for those guys! I've gone through the phase of getting belts, shirts, wallets, perfumes, towels, socks, key chains......any other ideas anyone? Nevertheless, I've always enjoyed buying gifts and sharing the love around tis season.....it's just so nice and fun to be giving and sharing during this joyful time of the year!

Why Why Why?

  • Why are there ppl who are just so bossy that they cant leave other ppl's life alone?
  • Why are there ppl who just like being envious to whatever others have and not be content with what they have themselves instead?
  • Why do some ppl just like hanging around asking questions about other ppl's life?
  • Why cant some ppl leave others alone to live their own lives and not asking too many personal questions, esp monetary matters?
  • Why must ppl be so engrossed with other ppl's life that they forgot to reflect on theirs and be thankful for their own lives?
  • Why is it that certain ppl just like harassing weaker ppl thinking that they will not retaliate and make them eat their own words?
  • Why is it that some ppl just think that because they have contributed to other ppl's life that they have the right to question them in and out, up and down, left, right and centre?
  • Why is it that ppl can become so jealous and envious of others' life that they go around gossiping, making false statements and telling tales around?
  • Why must the weaker souls bow to the supreme ones and be trampled by them?
  • Why isnt there any justice for the unfortunate souls who obviously didnt wish for the misfortune that befell on them?
  • Why do some ppl help others voluntarily at first and then expect much much gratitude in return much later?
  • Why must we be answerable to others on the decision we make in our lives?
  • Why cant these ppl leave others alone to get on with their lives?

WHY WHY WHY???????????

To school...

Not me of course!!! MY BABY ZACH IS GOING TO SCHOOL!!!! the feeling is just awkward and I just feel like crying.... My baby is finally taking his first step into the world filled with jargons like:-
1. teacher
2. classmates
3. principal
4. canteen
5. books
6. exams
7. timetable
8. PE
9. .......urgh!!!! the list goes on and on.....

why do I feel like crying? well, I have to face the fact that my baby has grown up and he's leaving his nest soon to explore the world and find his own mind. The day will finally arrive for me to watch him let go off my hands and take his own steps into the world on his own.... Ok..I know I'm being dramatic here and all....but the feeling after we registered him into his kindergarten yesterday just left me with a sense of funny feeling which is definitely not proud that he's entering school next year.......but the feeling of seeing him having his own space without me around to see what's gonna happen to things around him just sort of left me with a tinge of sadness..... What ever it is......I wish my baby would just remain a baby all the time...OK I know that's ridiculous......but I cant stop feeling this way!!!!!!!!

Facebook

I-Vee: Eh, why do I have problems sending message in Facebook?

I-Ling: You can go to Facebook and see the picture of my new house.

Samantha: How do to add Zach into Eli's Facebook?

Facebook Facebook Facebook...everyone is so into Facebook nowadays...it's like it's the main topic of conversation and the hub for communication with this sudden craze online. I have to admit that one of the main reasons for me not being posting anything in my blog is also because of Facebook! Sometimes I just dont realise the time I spend in Facebook...sending nonsense to friends and exploring what it has to offer in there. There just so many new things to explore everyday and it doesnt seem to be stopping. This is indeed a phenomenal thing that is happening in the virtual world nowadays......
and do you know that Facebook is worth USD15bil?????? by just creating all the nonsense that they are there now........these people are really smart I must say....and they are so successful that Microsoft is considering acquiring their company - info from a trusted source! a whopping USD15bil!!! pity Friendster...they are such an obsolete now that Facebook is such a huge thing in the net!

Ok....now would you excuse me, I've got some drinks to enjoy in my Facebook!

Poor sis...

We were having roti canai for breakfast early in the morning at around 8.15am when hubby received a call from my SIS! The minute he told me it was her ,my instinct told me straight away that it must be something bad. True enough! Damn! I hate my intuition sometimes.........

Sis has met with a bad accident at Federal Highway! Her car (WIRA.....mine previously) has been sandwiched between two cars after an emergency break accident! - All thanks to a young couple who was busy chatting in the car with the boyfriend speeding his Kelisa all the way in the fast lane without realising that sis has stepped on the break on the bumper to bumper jam on the highway. Worst of all......they weren's wearing any seat belts and according to sis.......the windscreen was left with a huge crack - a result of the impact from the head banged against it!

Needless to say, our beloved Wira is the worst casualty of all...front and back badly hit! Let the pictures do the talking!

I didnt think it was that bad until sis sent the pictures to me! Boy! My first reaction??? - Thank goodness sis is not hurt and of course.....THANKS to the seat belts! I dare not think of the consequences of the impact should she not fasten the seat belts that day! Well, it's gonna take months before the car is completely fixed...what's with the way how our beloved JPJ work! I was told that it takes up to 10 days just to get the police report out! It would be fast for the workshop to get the car fixed...but it's the paperwork that's killing! Urgh!!!!!!!!

Sad...

The headline read "My Baby"........a huge picture of a devoted father giving his baby a final kiss goodbye...... That 'baby' is 8-year old Nurin Jaslin whose disappearance made hot news in the media since last month and with the recent discovery of her naked and brutally murdered body found in a sportsbag, made even hotter news to the nation. And to know how her parents twice denied identifying her as their daughter made it an even bitter pill to swallow.

My heart goes out to Nurin's parents for their anguish and pain. Words cannot describe how I feel for them for as a mother, I dread to think how I'd accept the way my child is being treated that way.

The whole nation cried along with Nurin's parents upon the discovery of her tragic death. I had tears inside me too for I could feel how the parents must have felt upon seeing their innocent, beautiful daughter being brutally tortured and killed in such manner. And how her body was discovered too! Poor Nurin's body was found in such a dignity-less way that even a stranger will find it difficult to accept the manner in which her body was positioned.

I can write thousands of words to describe my anger towards those who did that to her and I just hope that that person will be brought to justice soon. In the manner of which Nurin was treated....if not.....100 times worse than the way Nurin died!

We can all just wish and pray harder that the culprit be caught so that Nurin will rest in peace in heaven knowing that justice has been brought upon her tormentor!

Malaysian Police......Time to buck up and prove it to us that you deserve what you are being paid for!

Nurin Jaslin - May you find peace and solace in heaven. You are finally free from all those torture you've been put through and May God continue His kind and merciful blessings upon you~

There will always be candles lit for you in our hearts....

China Chinese

Received a call from Rachel from NY and she was complaining to me how badly behaved those Chinese are in New York! Her colleague even claimed that he actually saw a woman stripping down her pants and shat (yes! pang sai!) right in front of his eyes! It could be exaggerated but then again, why would someone said such thing if it didnt happen?
Spitting, picking their noses and talking out loud have been the most common bad habits of Chinese people seen around the world. They are just that bad mannered and they carry these habits with them wherever they go! And it's not only found in China but everywhere in the world!

There's a saying which goes "You can take them out of China but you can never take China out of them!"
I've heard stories on how rude Chinese people can be. How they think they dominate the place wherever they go. Rachel said they are known as the ADAPTORS! They can just adapt to anywhere they go, even in foreign land far away from their Mainland!

Rach also told me that Chinatown in NY is the dirtiest place in the city and she concluded that Chinatown anywhere in the world is the dirtiest place to visit. Sigh......well, the only Chinatown I've been abroad is the one in Melbourne and I have to admit that it was pretty dirty when I visited.
The phone call left me ponder....are Chinese really dirty people as what claimed by most people?

My 'other' new babies

My much beloved new 'babies'!

Mini Lin Zippy Wallet~

Damier Azur Pochette Accessoires

Needless to say...I walked out of LV store @ Starhill, KL a much happier, and satisfied pregnant woman! .....but not with the intention to get back again some time later to get my hands on the Damier Hampstead bag (a spontaneous try; thanks to the sweet talk of the salesperson in there) my beloved hubby offered to get me earlier with the choice of forgoing the wallet for the much bigger and worthier bag! Errm.....I wouldnt use the word 'worthier' though cos Hampstead costs more than double the price we paid for the small lil wallet!

.....Neverfull???? 'a thing in the past' now that:-

1. I have tried on the sample available and realised it's not what I had in mind prior to stepping into the store

2. It's out of stock globally and they are not promising when the stocks will be available cos it's sort of a current madness worldwide for LV lovers.....hence, not meant to be for me!

3. I'm an impatient person. No such thing as putting a deposit for something and wait for months to own it!

4. I seem to have a connection with Damier Hampstead instead....hmmm, they rhyme!

Well, I settled for the wallet for I desperately need a new wallet to replace my much much old one and not to mention, to get myself prepared to match it with my new aim - Damier Hampstead! hahaha...who says a retail therapy is a good stress reliever? Well, it might work 'at that point of time', with that short moment of excitement but it can never last for long! We women can never have the word 'enough' engraved permanently in our vocab......especially when it comes to getting your hands on the things that you adore!

My next aim ( if I don't change my mind by then)

- Damier Hampstead GM

"You just have more things to get, don't you?", hubby questioned.

"Oh yes.....just look around..... these people are just brilliant creatures to come out with such wide range of collection!.....there's always something in the store which lure me into believing them with their voice calling out - "come, come come...come and get me!"

.... well, LV to me (and I'm sure to my other LV enthusiastic frens as well...u girls know who u are!) is just like sex to most men.......I can never get enough of it! muahahahahahaha....

...and there I was few weeks ago vowing not to spend too much anymore...tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk.....but then again, I'm pregnant! I deserve some pampering, don't I? That's my craving! *wink*

40 Degrees Celcius!

My baby was feverish late Tuesday night, resulted from the water he played earlier in the evening, I suppose. Anyway, he was at 38.1'C at night and I didnt take it seriously thinking that after some Paracetamol given, he will be alright in a day or two!

I wasnt prepared to see a big 40 on the thermometer and I got panicked right away! He was alright at 2.30am when I got up to check on him. Thinking that his temperature has gone down, I didnt bother setting alarm to wake up again to check on him. Boy! I was in for a surprised when he woke up giving me some sighing sound asking for milk. But he didnt even finish an ounce before he dozed off again. That's when I got panicked after giving him a mere touch on his forehead. Boy! It was burning hot! I took his temperature again and again.....it was either 40'C or 40.1'C..the lowest was 39.8'C. That's when I know I could not be wrong anymore.
News or stories I've heard about how fever can affect a child's brain came flashing into my mind. Call me a paranoia, panick freak or whatsoever.....I'll do anything in the world to protect my baby from the pain/sufferings he's bound to face!

We did not waste any more time to decide rushing Zach to the ER in SJMC at 5.30am! By the time we arrived at the ER, his temperature went down to 38.3'C, still at an alarming level for a 2-year old! After being checked, we were told that his fever should go down in 2 to 3 days, otherwise he would have to be sent for a blood test should his fever continues.
Well, I wouldnt say that I've sighed a relieve upon knowing that he will be alright. In fact, I've became more worried and told myself to be more alert and observant in monitoring his temperature for the next 48 hours.

It's been more than 36 hours since his first detected fever on Tuesday night. Up till 2.30am this morning, his fever has not made a comeback and hopefully it will stay that way.
Being a mother to a sick child is not at all 'a walk in the park'! Something I wasnt prepared for when I first learned I was carrying a baby inside me! Guess no time is the best time to be prepared for anything until you experienced it first hand!
