All about Zach

The week went past with a stir of emotions for me....
My firstborn, Zach has finally graduated from pre-school.....looking back it felt like it was only just yesterday that I blogged about his first ever step to pre-school in year 2008 .....

He wasnt even 3 yet!

The FIRST step...
(well, he was there for barely 2 months before we decided to pull him out from the nursery class (health issues and all the stress from him falling sick ever so often)...to cut a long story short, he went back there again in 2009 when he was almost 4)

.....back to 2011.....and now my baby is finally closing a chapter of his academic footstep and moving on to another level......
It was just yesterday that he took his first leap into his first ever kindy in 2008/2009 and then the next thing I know, my baby was right in front of me wearing this...

Looking all grown up....I got emotional and couldnt believe my eyes for a moment that I was indeed attending his graduation ceremony....needless to say, I was in tears....one down...another munchkin's pre school graduation to go in 3 years time....

Taken at home right before leaving for Zach's graduation concert in school. He's dressed up in a traditional Korean costume for his Korean dance performance later that morning....

My 3 bosses!

Ok..before I got carried away in sharing those pictures, I shall get back to the topic of my post here - All About Zach...

As the week went past revolving about Zach and his graduation, I cant help but to reflect back on some of the unforgettable moments I experienced with my firstborn this year so far......2011 has indeed been a memorable year for him, and of cos us as a family.

It was early this year that Zach was diagnosed with a hernia problem and required immediate surgery to correct his condition. Mind you, it was indeed a whirlwind experience for hubby and I. After seeking a few opinions from the medical experts, we have decided to go ahead with the surgery to have his hernia treated. Feb 16 this year was decided for his surgery date.

The one-hour wait at the waiting room outside the OT was indeed excruciating for hubby and I. Clock ticks like it's never gonna come to a closure and we just couldnt wait for everything to be over. Hubby got extremely emotional when we were asked to leave the OT after Zach was put under the GA. Our imagination was rollercoast-ing and we only had each other for comfort during the hour-long wait. Finally we were told of the good news that the surgery was a success and Zach is well on his road to recovery! No parents should ever be made to wait outside the OT while their children are on the operating tables! It is just unbearable not knowing what goes on behind those doors and them under those bright spot lights!

Post surgery

A lil something from mommy to cheer him up after his surgery - an addition to his collection of Kamen Rider figurines. The smile on his face eventhough he was in pain - PRICELESS!

All's well now with his condition and we can only hope for the best for our children and their health conditions.

On a happier note.....we were informed by his school teachers that he emerged top in his class for his outstanding performance in his academic achievement! It was some time in May during their annual Parent-Teacher meeting that his teachers told us how excellent Zach is in school. Well, eventhough he might still be in pre-school, we couldnt help but to feel extremely proud of our beloved son for his excellent achievement in his studies. He never failed to maintain his excellence in his studies ;). He was also top in his class the year before (scoring perfect marks in all his exam papers) and also in his previous kindy when he was 4 and came home with a lil trophy to mark his excellence in class in 2009

We have yet to know of his academic achievement in his final term in pre-school as I blog.......hence we are pretty tensed up to know how he fared in his recent assessment in school. He's been promised a gift of his choice and boy! he IS also pretty much excited to know if he deserves the gift ;). Well, mommy doesnt mind at all to part with her money for that gift simply because it's a priceless feeling to have a son who shows excellence in his studies at such a young age....Mommy could only wish that this string of excellence would be continued as he takes on the upcoming levels in his academic achievement......another pic of my boy in his graduation robe and mortar board fr uni? tht's every mother's wish *wink*

As for now, well done, my son!

Bouncing back...

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo again!
Just noticed that my last post was dated way back in Sept last year!
Soooooooooooooooooooo many things have happened and I regret not blogging as often as I planned to when I first started this blog.....

Anyway........picking up from where I left behind in my last post...YES! I've ventured (together with a partner) into a small business dealing with all-things-party! Well, I actually took up a franchise business cos hubby thinks that's the fastest and easiest way to start a business without much research needed.

Feel free to drop by! Quote my blog and get a 20% off your purchase - assurance by the owner herself *wink* macamla many followers in this blog.......syiok sendiri only!

Well...that was hot and happening almost 9 months ago. Was busy running errands here and there and trying my hands out in learning the trade, etc........
Sadly, ......I'm no business material :(. Things havent been smooth and I have to admit that at some point, I was on the verge of giving up.......and thought that being a stay-at-home-mom was indeed more of my thing than being an enterpreneur......me no likey run business..... whats with dealing with unreasonable customers, high staff turnover, unhelpful franchisor, tight business finances, etc.....arghhhhhh!!!!!!

However, with the support and advice I gained from friends and family, especially from my beloved and reliables business consultant cum advisor cum HUSBAND, I'm picking up the pieces and beginning to cop pretty well now.......

I understand that we have our ups and downs in everything that we do.....important thing is tht we hav to pick up where we fall and be positive about it with sheer determination and confidence.
I have learnt my lesson and still do.....everyday is a learning experience for me and I shall take it one step at a time.......
I anticipate more challenges ahead but I shall just take it in my stride and not too stressed out over lil things......there's more to my life than THIS!

More posts soon....promise!

C, D, ..E?

C - CANCER...
D - DEATH...
E - END???

those are the three words which prompted me to ponder on the things in life that we should look heavier upon.....
woke up to a Monday morning with a news of hubby's ex-collegemate's loss in her battle against leukaemia...she was only 35. A sweet friend, I was told; devoted and dedicated mother to a 4 year old boy....she fought a good 10 months battle before drawing her final breathe, surrounded by family members....
loved by many, remembered by all, she was truly an inspiration to all who knew her...
few articles were written about her by her close friends, 2 of which published in The Star a week after her passing....

Then a week later, came another news from hubby again - one of his friends' friend passed away......also from leukaemia, after only a 2 months battle with the disease....he was only 46, father to a young teenager and had so much in life to look forward to....

Then another news of hubby's business partner who was recently diagnosed with having the very early stage of prostate cancer. The C word is undoubtedly scary..............most of the time, it spells DEADLY....

Mom's friend, whom I grew up knowing as one of her closest and bestest buddies from work was also recently diagnosed with 3rd stage of lung cancer.........

All these news came pouring in within 2 weeks!

That really got me thinking......yes! we all know that death is unvoidable....but how can we make the most of our time in the universe....what matters most? who? why? when? thousands of questions ran through my head........we are all here for a certain period of time and there isnt such thing called permanent. whatever that we do are temporary....so how can we make it significant? memorable? remarkable?

Life in the universe is indeed short. Making the most out of it has become a mission for many. What we do today shall bear no regrets tomorrow - thats an aim many of us would wanna have...but how?
Living it on a daily basis like there's tomorrow. "Live like we're dying" - Kris Allen
That song was never an eye opener to me until the recent events which took place...it got me thinking; real hard........Live like we're dying....
But I'm a mother.....I have my children to think about....hundreds, if not thousands of questions have been popping in my head regarding my children's welfare should I leave this universe one day.....
But there'll never be answers to many of those questions....I'm just gonna accept this particular rule of life.

Death is inevitable *period*

Hence:-

  • Rejoice in life! Share and remember those happy moments....

  • Cherish every moment that you have with your loved ones!

  • Live without regrets...

  • Bear no grudges against no one...for hatred only bring sorrow...

  • Dont hold back in whatever intention that you may have for chances dont come too often...

...I will try my very best to walk the talk... how about you?

while I was away...

It's been a while since my last post more than a month ago...
well, much have happened and they were a mixture of pleasant and not-so-pleasant events...

first dad was admitted into the hospital ....yea....again....
this time - it's for his pro-longed stomach ache which caused much panic among us....we thought of the worst but it was caused by his failing gall bladder.....yup...it stopped functioning and had to be removed immediately....he's gall bladder-less now....

that was 2 weeks before hubby and I were to leave for our vacation in Japan.
Well, God answered our prayers and dad was discharged and given a clean bill of health a few days before our trip. Hence, hubby and I left for Japan with a much relieved feeling.

'Honeymoon' in Japan was superb! We visited Kyoto and Tokyo and had the time of our life there! Love the country, people, environment and all things Japanese! And we can see ourselves back there again with our kids in tow the next time. Yes! that's how much we love the country!
Some pictures to describe our memorable trip....

New BB?

A quick update from my previous post...
It's been almost 2 weeks since I sent in my faulty BB to Maxis for repair because it was still under the warranty period and I was told to wait for a loan unit (which I was never contacted for one..) while the old one is being sent to the workshop.....
So there I was this afternoon, dropping my Maxis to check on the availability of a loan unit (well, not that I really need one now that I've got my iPhone but the devil in me just wanna grab hold of something belonging to Maxis while waiting for the return of my own unit...kekeke...) *devil grin*

Boy was I in for a better surprise or what?

"We've decided to replace a new unit for u cos your old one is a total 'gone case'"

"Wow! really??!! Cool...but how come it's not the new Bold 2?" ..(kekeke....still trying my luck.....ya I know..greedy me...haha)

"Miss, u r lucky enough to even get a new unit..."

*greedy mission failed*

....ok..I shall not complain further...

So what am I gonna do with this now that I've switched to iPhone? Hubby la's the new owner...cos his BB Curve is also playing tricks on him lately.....

The stupid me...

Was busy zipping up my wallet without realising that a RM10 note's edge got stuck with the zipper....and this is what I've got.....

What else? Puzzle fixing and pasting ler.....No way I'm just gonna leave it as it is...it's a bloody 10 bucks! no one's gonna accept a torn note.....the last time I got a note with some marker scribbled on it...took me damn long to get rid of it from my wallet....finally managed to use it after folding the note into half to pay for 2 packets of chicken rice....>_<

Done! Managed to get rid of it to a jockey in Midvalley.......I sound like a swindler here...but hey, it's not a fake note...just a slightly torn one...hehe

Where is the kids' luggage????

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This could not have happened!!!"

We missed out the kids' luggage??????
Yup...we DID!
Everyone's luggage was unloaded and the kids' was nowhere in sight.......
SHIT! FU@#!

I mean????? there were 6 adults and we had missed out ONE huge luggage? GReat! Just Great!
Anyway.....we made it to the flight; with the kids' luggage, of course! - but not before going through the stress of trying to go back and get it, going through long queues during check-in AND best of all, having our names announced  through the PA system - how embarrasing!

It's my VERY first time experiencing such stressful, dramatic, time-chasing and tensed moments throughout my travelling experiences.....well, it's definitely not something worth experiencing.....

Oh yes...did I mention that it was a trip to Club Med Bali?

Are u ok?

Just tot I'll just share this with you all......

I was at IJN (Institut Jantung Negara) last Thursday for a full and thorough body medical checkup. YES....u got it right.....a full body checkup.

It was initially planned for mom n dad to go for it as I feel it's good to know dad's heart condition, considering we have a family history of heart disease. And since dad agreed to it....I tot it'll be good to have mom's health checked as well.

I have to give a big thumb's up for IJN. Enquiry department was superb in replying my numerous emails, not to mention my neverending questions. Gone were the days when we got to personally go to the hospital for our appointments to be fixed and come back again on the scheduled time and date. Now everything can be arranged through emails. After a few emails exchange between the ever helpful Miss Aida, our appointments were fixed. Mid way through my correspondence with Miss Aida, I thought it'll be good too for hubby n I have our health condition known as well. We've had talks on a few occasions where we felt that it's important to at least have our cholesterol, sugar, fats, etc level known to at least create an awareness for ourselves. And mind you, I've never had my body thoroughly checked all my life! So it's about time I do that and hubby was more than willing to accompany me for it as he felt that he should be aware of his health condition as well. So we all decided to sign up for the Executive Screening Program (ESP) offered by IJN at a cost of RM555/person.

*I was told it costs much more in private hospitals for similar health screening*

So, all arrangements we finally made between Miss Aida and me. Thanks to the ppl who invented emails! Everything was done online - from filling up the application form right up to the submission and confirmation of appointment date and time.

Mom n dad had their appointments fixed 2 days before ours. We couldnt have all our appointments fixed at the same time for obvious reason - I need babysitters!

Ok...think I've gone a bit too far in talking abt the pre-appointment part.

So, we arrived at IJN at 7.30am (our appointments were scheduled at 7.45am). Had our particulars taken down, given a name tag and face towel (a stress test is included in this program where we were required to walk/run on a treadmill to have our heart rate checked)

Next we were assembled in a group of 4 and an escort was assigned to guide us through the whole procedure of the ESP.

Before he took us for our first round of test, we were brought to the cashier counter for payment. Yup......pay up before you start! Fair enough.

Then the real thing begins -

First, we were given a small container for our urine test.

Then, we were brought to the blood test lab to have our blood samples taken for various tests (blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, fat content, etc) Poor hubby, he was poked twice because the medical officer couldnt extract enough blood on his first attempt.

Next, we were guided to the Radiology Department to have our X-rays taken.

I was quite hesitant for this, reason being - the thought of being half naked in front of the machine, not to mention the officer in charged is just uncomfortable. However, I was surprised that it was no longer required to do so. My X-ray was taken with me having the hospital suit put on. That totally changed my perception on X-rays :)

After that, we were taken to the Physiotheraphy Department for the lung function test. While at the waiting room, we saw a number of post-heart surgery patients waiting to have their routined physiotherapy done. I could see the raw stitches right up to their neck revealed while they were aided to their respective physiotherapists' room. It was not a pleasant sight at all as I could see the pain there were enduring while walking and talking at the same time. And most of them were male patients. We were later told by our consultant doctor that male patients make up to 70% of the total patients in IJN! Guys, take good care of ur heart! watch ur diet!

Back to our lung function test. We were required to blow into a tiny inhaler which is connected to the computer for the reading of our lungs' functions. It was no easy task as we were required to take in a deep breath and blow out as hard as we could so that our lungs functionalities will be read accurately. Well, we got choked a few times during the 3 attempts given but it was all pleasant to know that we've got strong lungs! A big reward to ourselves for being non-smokers!

We also got our BMI (Body Mass Index) analysed. I didnt like the result.....tho it's still within the stated limit......

The last and final round of the ESP was of course, the stress test. That took the longest wait because there is only ONE treadmill for the test for a total of about 10 people signed up for the ESP that day. We waited for more than an hour and finally it was my turn. I've got my body stuck with those stickers connected to numerous wires, as always seen on TV for EGC tests. The full test comprises of 5 stages where the speed for each stage increases after 3 minutes each. It was a breeze walk for me from stage 1 til 3 and I ran my heart out when it came to stage 4. It took me a total of 10 mins 26 secs on the treadmill when I finally gave up. Not an easy test at all! I was sweating all over and gasping for air when the technician reduced the speed after I surrendered to her! Hubby did better - went through stage 1 to 4 easily and just as he was prepared for a good run in stage 5, she stopped the machine saying it's more than enough to detect a good heart at stage 4! Hah!

A total of 5 rounds of various tests....we were finally brought to the waiting area to see our consultant doctor for our results. Waited for approximately 30 mins before we were called into the doctor's room.

My results - All looked good. Satisfying.

Hubby's - Not too bad except for some minor abnormalities which required some extra attention and awareness, especially food intake wise.

Bottomline : We were quite pleased with the overall results from the checkup and we thank God that everything went well and that we could have a peace of mind about our health- for now. Hopefully they maintain that way in years to come!

Anal? OCD?

I was having a chat with my fren Kristy one day when we came across the word "ANAL". Well, apparently, it's a word given by her hubby, describing her behaviour of being "Anal". It basically means being irritatingly fussy over small things and only the person who is "Anal" understand why things r done the way it should be done. Ok...... a bit confusing? It is also similar to the signs of having an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as described by another friend, Maria who claims that she has it, and so does her 5-year-old daughter!
A quick look at the definition of OCD, as found in Wikipedia -
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder most commonly characterized by intrusive, repetitive thoughts resulting in compulsive behaviors and mental acts that the person feels driven to perform, according to rules that must be applied rigidly [Aniston: OMG! This is so me....!], aimed at preventing some imagined dreaded event; however, these behaviors or mental acts are not connected to the imagined dreaded event [Aniston: So true! It's all in the mind of the beholder! I'm one, for example].
According to the current epidemiological data, OCD is the fourth most common mental disorder and OCD is considered nearly as common as
asthma and diabetes mellitus.[1] In the United States, 1 in 50 adults have OCD.[2] In severe cases, it affects a person's ability to function in everyday activities. The disorder often has a serious impact on the sufferer's (and his/her family's) quality of life [Aniston: It happens to me. Hubby couldn't understand at times why I did certain things and we ended up quarreling over my 'analic' behaviour!]. Also, the psychological self-awareness of the irrationality of the disorder can be painful. For people with severe OCD, it may take several hours a day to carry out the compulsive acts.
Experts[
who?] believe OCD may be related to levels of a normal chemical in the brain called serotonin. When the proper flow of serotonin is blocked, the brain's "alarm system" overreacts. Danger messages are mistakenly triggered. Instead of the brain filtering out these unnecessary thoughts, the brain dwells on them—and the person repeatedly experiences unrealistic fears and doubts.
The phrase "obsessive-compulsive" has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is meticulous,
perfectionistic, absorbed in a cause, or otherwise fixated on something or someone [Aniston: I dont see any harm in being meticulous and perfectionistic...it makes life more organized and well-planned, the way I see it. Ok, only ppl like me would understand what I mean here] .[3] Although these signs are often present in OCD, a person who exhibits them does not necessarily have OCD, and may instead have obsessive-compulsive personality disorder [Aniston: Ok, perhaps my condition is not as severe as OCD......maybe OCPD. That doesnt make me any less "ANAL"....haha] (OCPD) or some other condition.
Ok.....got it loud n clear? Now, back to my conversation with Kristy about being "Anal", Lets just assume that being "Anal" and having the OCD r the same in this particular post. We both concluded that we are so "anal" that it's driving people around us crazy at times. As we revealed our 'anal' behaviour to each other, we couldnt help but shook our heads and agreed that we r indeed "pain in the ass" to certain people on certain things that we do and think. They might sound, look or appear perfectly normal to us but it is NOT to others.
Ok, let me give u some examples of me being "Anal":-
1. Slippers and shoes outside my front door have to be arranged properly in a line. Pity my maid but it is a MUST - everyday!
2. All rugs in the house must be colour cordinated and no such thing as mixing a black rug in living area and a blue one at the dining area. Both areas must have the same colored rug! No fancy-looking or cartoon-looking rugs please!
3. All cutleries (spoons, forks, knives) in the kitchen must be arranged in a row and facing the same right position in the drawer. No such thing as having one face right and the rest facing left or on top of each other!
4. My guests who dine at my house must all be using the same set of cutleries. No such thing as mixing the old with new ones. NO NO!
5. Bedsheet! They must be colour-cordinated - not only between the mattress and the quilt cover, but also the curtain! No such thing as having an earth-toned curtain with a green bedsheet! No No!!!
6. All cups, glasses, plates, bowls and most kitchen wares used in the house must be either white in colour or transparent-looking. I forbid the usage of multi-colored utensils.
7. Before going to sleep every night, I will scan the room once before shutting my eyes. Everything has to be in the right place and order. Curtains must be drawn perfectly - not even a cm away from the end of the rail. Should it be imperfect, I will drag myself out from bed just to that small adjustment. Don't expect me getting a good night's sleep knowing that the curtain is not in perfect order! [Hubby couldnt understand the reason I do that every night but it's a routine for me]
8. All clothes, towels, underwears, socks in my wardrobe/closet/drawers must be folded MY way and only the same way I want them to be. They are to be arranged and put nicely in place. For example, a towel has to be folded into half, then another half and finally into 3 parts. ALL towels in the house, including the kids' are to be folded the same way.
9. My wardrobe is properly arranged according to the types of clothing I have. They are put in sections pre-determined: -
- spaghetti-strapped blouses
- long-sleeved blouses
- short-sleeved blouses
- long pants
- 3/4pants
- short pants
- long skirt
- short skirt
- long dresses
- short dresses, etc.
Note that all my hangers are white in color and hubby's - black. Not enough hangers? - I'd rather my maid hang a few pairs of pants on one hanger (until I get more) than hanging them on multi-colored hangers, [bought and used by hubby during his bachelor days until I came into the picture].. which I've stored away in the storeroom - not to be used anymore - fullstop!
Dont let me see anything misplaced or mixed with each other....I'll go beserk! Not only my own closet...hubby and kids' too!
10. The arrangement of flowers, trees, plants, flower pots in my garden have to be in a flow and balanced. Example, 2 potted plants placed in front of the window must be balanced from one end to the other. Dont let me see one is closer to the end and the other having a big gap from the edge of the window. I'll ensure that they are perfectly in place. Tress planted in my garden have to be in the balanced position - meaning, a tree planted between my bamboo trees must hav the exact gap from the next similar tree planted. No such thing as having one in between 2 bamboo trees and the other between 3 bamboo trees. That explained how I got so tanned when the landscaping work was done in my garden few months back! I was supervising the whole afternoon just to make sure the trees are planted they way I want them to be. Even pebble-stone tiles placed on the grass must have the same balance gap from one to the next.
Having 10 examples here is enough to make one think I'm really "ANAL" or so Kristy and hubby thought. I havent even started on the way I pack for travelling. Kristy shook her head when I told her how and what I take with me when I travel, even as near as back to hubby's hometown.
Also, the amount of fights hubby and I went through when renovating and decorating our new nest....all because of my OCD behaviour! Paint, tiles, curtains, furnitures, etc.....
Kristy said that I'm worse than her! But wait till u know how "Anal" she is when it comes to her food! Gawd! She's worse than me in that sense! haha.....we shall stop there!
So, how do we conclude if we are "Anal" or having OCD or just plain fussy and organized? Well, if u asked me, I'll just say that I'm just being a lil more fussy that people around me, while retaining my sanity at times. Ok, perhaps I'm being denial... but call me whatever you want.....but I'm just gonna be myself and continue being "ANAL", if that's what I am.
So, are you one as well????? *wink* *wink*
Have a great day!
*just in case u r wondering why there arent spaces between the lines in the post, it's something which I couldnt rectify as well. Tried hitting 'enter' after a few lines but they all get crammed up once I hit the "publish post" button" - annoying! *

Perfect Eyesight

Another life-changing experience for me took place yesterday at exactly 4.20pm.
I got my vision corrected to its original state! Ok....I got my eyes lasered.

Well the exact surgery is called Laser Assisted in situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) whereby the top flap of on the cornea is lifted up for a while for the utilization of the Excimer Laser to correct one's vision by evening out the curvature of the cornea to achieve a desired correction. Upon completion of the laser procedure, the flap is eventually laid back to its original position over the treated corneal tissue. All this done in not more than 10 minutes! Imagine....in just 10 minutes, my life is totally transformed and ...no more specs, no more contact lenses! A person whose vision needs correction like me would understand perfectly how this change is extremely significant to me!

*I was supposed to have this surgery done a year ago. I had my eyes tested and all and I was finally given the thumbs up for being suitable for the surgery and even had appointment for the surgery confirmed when I found out I was pregnant with Roy and had to hav it postponed til yesterday*

Ok...I wouldnt say that there's not a single sensation of pain throughout my experience during the surgery. I would say that the process whereby each flap of my eye is lifted is somehow stinging and to have each eye opened up forcedfully for at least 5 minutes is not a comfortable feeling at all. But then the tought of discarding the use of my specs n contact lens is too enticing and that helped pulled me through the whole 'quite agonising' procedure. My vision was restored 50% right after the surgery and I was given a sleeping pill to help me rest my eyes for about 3 hours and vision was restored almost 100% after I woke up from my beauty sleep. How pleasant! :) Waking up knowing that I wasnt wearing any contact lenses and yet having a clear vision!

I've forgotten how it feels like to have woken up from sleep each morning with clear vision. As a matter of fact, I think that feeling was like more than a decade ago before I had to get my vision corrected in 1993. I have always hated the idea of beeing seen in my glasses (I dont know why but I just hate the look of myself in glasses) so much so I only wear them when I went to school and needed them when I read from the blackboard. I remember clearly the times when I couldnt wait til I turned 15 when I could finally get to wear the contact lens ( I was told that's the age when one's eyes are suitable for contact lenses. Not sure how true is that but that's the age when I first wore them). And I've never looked back eversince without my ever-trusted contact lens. 13 years of contact lens wearing experience and I'm finally free from all the hassle of buying, changing, soaking, putting-on, cleaning.......u name it....whatever that is needed to maintain the use of contact lenses. Not to mention the times when I had my share of eye infections - watery eye, itchy eye, reddish eye, swollen eye, painful eyes, etc.

And now...I'm finally FREE from all those hassle!!! No more worries of:

1. not bringing enough pairs of disposable contact lenses; the saline water; protein tablets; the case, etc for my vacations ( these were the hassle I had to go thru b4 the invention of disposable contact lenses)

2. misplacing my specs and getting all frustrated for not being able to locate it

3. spending tonnes of money purchasing daily disposable contact lenses in bulks

4. going out with itchy/reddish eyes because of eye infection caused by the contact lenses

5. many many many more woes of not having the perfect eyesight!

Well, please excuse me while I dwell into this new happiness of mine *giggle* .....Please forgive me for feeling this way...afterall it's been a long time since I've had perfect vision in my life and I'm glad it's finally restored and I could enjoy the beauty of life without any aid anymore!

Thanks to the brilliant invention of LASIK!!! *wink*

I was busy doing some pest control around my hse yesterday evening when I made a weird discovery........

...my wedding ring right in the middle of my back garden!!

It's weird n shocking cos I remember clearly that I have left the ring in the drawer next t o my bed 2 weeks back and I haven't worn it til...well, the time I found it yesterday cos I was having some rashes on my finger.... So, how the hell did the ring made its appearance in my garden? And how weird is that for me....of all person....ME who found it and no one else? The ring is sure fated to be MINE!

Just when I tot I had a weird day with such finding in the garden....something else happened.....

try figure out wht this is.....

can u figure out wht this is?

no? scroll down.....

muahahahahahhaha.....it's my toe nail! My beloved painted nail. How it happened? Well, I had an accident on my toe while pushing the trolley one day whilst pregnant and it turned black! Then as days and months went by, my nail began to crack and it finally broke into half when I (ironically) kicked my toe onto the wheel of a trolley months after tht. It was a painful and bloody experience....OUCH! From then my nail just refuse to grow properly and I had to have a nail extension done a few times when I did my pedicure. And for whatever reason, the WHOLE nail decided to leave my toe yesterday! The full, whole nail.....the artificial one intact with my natural nail chose to elope together! I'm now left with 9 nicely painted nails with an ugly, unpainted big toe! *nope. no pictures. it's abit gory tho*

Hence, Nov 10, 2008 shall officially be declared as my "Weird Day!"

Nope..I'm not done yet with my ring story....
Weird n funny thoughts ran through my mind the whole night til this morning...

1. Whoever took it must have drop it in the garden in the midst of escaping after stealing it.....(possible)

2. It must have hopped out from my drawer and landed in the garden.....(wild imagination)

3. I must have sleep-walked one night and dropped it.....creepy....

4. A bird came into my room, bit it and flew off with it before realising it's no food, hard, yet heavy and decided to drop it while flying around the garden..... (ok, tht's a bit exaggerating)

5. Zach must have opened my drawer, tried wearing it and went to garden and dropped it without realising it....(yes! tht must be it!) Hmm.....why didnt I thought of that in the first place?

...I did ask him about it this morning and true enough...he admitted taking it but couldnt answer me when I asked him where he left it......my question is finally answered....

Damn the virus....

I was damn happy with the mp3 files that I've dowloaded over the weekend, namely Jason Mraz, Natasha Bedingfield and One Republic when this window suddenly popped up and notified me that my computer has been infected with not ONE but over 30 viruses!!!!!!!!
And it's only been barely 2 weeks since I got my laptop!!!!

There I thought that I could rely on the trial verson of the Antivirus that I've got..but somehow it didnt do the work it was supposed to and I'm left with the mp3s that I've wanted but also some extra gifts - those stupid viruses!!!!!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And ppl told me that it's ok to have caught some viruses...."Just download the antivirus from the net. Solve your problem. - period_"

No way!!!! my bro in law, whom we all refer to as Dr Computer came to my rescue tht weekend itself. Tried to downlaod the antivirus software that he has but to no avail. Apparently Windows Vista is still pretty new that older versions of antivirus software cannot perform they way they should be on Vista. Double doom for me!

The solution I was told - get a pirated (or cracked) version of the most updated antivirus software from the market and your problem will be solved. It only costs RM10.

So the very day itself (which was yesterday) I made my way to Pyramid to get the thing I was supposed to.
End result - got a genuine antivirus program instead. The salesman somehow managed to convince me with his recommendation of the latest version of antivirus siftware - Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.
Was expecting to spend 10 bucks on the cracked Antivirus 2009, but forked out 130 bucks extra for a genuine one instead. Ouch!

Mission #1 accomplished!

Back home - I couldnt wait to install the cd the minute I got home but not without spending almost 2 hours of putting the kids to sleep and whatever there is to do before I could have some peaceful time of my own. Cut the story short - managed to accomplish mission #2 (disinfecting the viruses) today at ard 3 pm!!! A freaking 5 hours since morning. Not before having some trials n errors of installing and setting up the sofware. Forgive me for I'm an amateur when it comes to rectifying IT problems...... Darn...tht's a very long time to get rid of those unwanted pests in my system! Anyway...all's well now...or so I hope.....looks good to me so far.....tht antivirus better prove its worth for my laptop for the next 1 year. I dont expect anymore harm in my system now that I've spent on the software.

Mr Kaspersky; you better do your magic as what you promised on the cover of the CD! haha
Wish me luck.......STAY AWAY FROM MY LAPTOP YOU DAMN HACKERS!

Bad luck? not only me!

I was reading my frens' blogs after my own posting and found out that 2 of them also met with car accidents last week and this week!
Now...this really got me thinking......we are all of the same age and zodiac - Monkey....is this how the Monkeys gonna end their Pig Year? with car accidents and bad oments?
Not that I'm superstitious...but I cant help thinking about it....May God Bless us and shield us away from the bad oments!

Well.....like what Samantha said...."Thank goodness it's only minor accidents....let them be the ones to 'shoo' away the major ones which might occur!"

NO MORE BAD LUCK!!!!!

Happened all at once!

Just when I thought all things will go well and am looking forward to the CNY (not that I'm anticipating it that much...) and our getaway holiday to Bali thereafter (yeah! am looking forward mroe to this!)..............the bad vibes just have to happen this week...the final week of the lunar year before the arrival of the Rat year....
sigh......
But I take it in a stride when Samantha consoled me by saying that "let the small things happen to deter away the big bad oments...." well......I believe in you, Sam!

ok.....how it happened u may ask...hmm..where should I start? it's all jumbled up.....

First of all...just when I thought Zach was finally alright and up and about after a bout of flu and cough he contracted in school..... Daddy said, "Let's break the reacord Zach! Go to school for a whole full week this week!"...I was like "Yeah.....let's break the record man!"
U see...ever since the school started and my boy took his first steps in school, he has never completed a full week of attendance...it's either a fever, flu or cough! So we thought...for the final week before the end of the month, we are hoping that he could at least complete the attendance without being absent or whatever....

Well, no...it's not gonna happen anytime soon. He came back with a slight fever....yeah! again! after school on Monday! There goes!!!!!!!! Skipping school again the next day itself!
And just when I thought it's just gonna be a mild fever like any other fever he's got the weeks before........more in store after what happened next.....

Before I continue with Zach's 'exciting' frontier............
I met with a minor car accident on my way back from takign Zach to the clinic! yeah.....how unlucky! to cut a long story short, I knocked the rear side of a Mercedes Benz at a roundabout near my house and all in all.....it cost me RM750 for the compensation to the Benz owner and the repair of my own car bumper! Big hole in the pocket......

And just when I thought that the bad luck is finally over.......it's not.......AGAIN!!!!! We found some red spots on Zach's hands and legs the next morning (today) and the first thing that struck my mind was Gosh!!! Please dont let it be the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD)...My worst fear was confirmed when we took him to the doctor. Not only that, he is the 3rd HFMD patient the doc saw today and they are all from Zach's school! - The first one reported this year on January 15!
Our first reaction was "how could the school not do anything about it? or at least have the courtesy to inform us, parents? It's been a freaking 2 weeks! Perhaps it could have been prevented if only they took more precaution about it!" And when I called the school, I was informed that 2 of Zach's classmates are confirmed victims of such disease as of today!...Zach being the 3rd one!

Things and fears parents go through........

Now that he's got it.....we cant do much about it as there's no medication or vaccinations for this airborne virus just yet and the only thing we could do for now is to pray and hope that the virus will finally leave his body and that his ulcers and rashes will go off by itself in a week's time!

......Am wondering what else is in store next.............No more please! I'm stressed enough.......it's not good for my pregnancy!!!!

Facebook

I-Vee: Eh, why do I have problems sending message in Facebook?

I-Ling: You can go to Facebook and see the picture of my new house.

Samantha: How do to add Zach into Eli's Facebook?

Facebook Facebook Facebook...everyone is so into Facebook nowadays...it's like it's the main topic of conversation and the hub for communication with this sudden craze online. I have to admit that one of the main reasons for me not being posting anything in my blog is also because of Facebook! Sometimes I just dont realise the time I spend in Facebook...sending nonsense to friends and exploring what it has to offer in there. There just so many new things to explore everyday and it doesnt seem to be stopping. This is indeed a phenomenal thing that is happening in the virtual world nowadays......
and do you know that Facebook is worth USD15bil?????? by just creating all the nonsense that they are there now........these people are really smart I must say....and they are so successful that Microsoft is considering acquiring their company - info from a trusted source! a whopping USD15bil!!! pity Friendster...they are such an obsolete now that Facebook is such a huge thing in the net!

Ok....now would you excuse me, I've got some drinks to enjoy in my Facebook!

Poor sis...

We were having roti canai for breakfast early in the morning at around 8.15am when hubby received a call from my SIS! The minute he told me it was her ,my instinct told me straight away that it must be something bad. True enough! Damn! I hate my intuition sometimes.........

Sis has met with a bad accident at Federal Highway! Her car (WIRA.....mine previously) has been sandwiched between two cars after an emergency break accident! - All thanks to a young couple who was busy chatting in the car with the boyfriend speeding his Kelisa all the way in the fast lane without realising that sis has stepped on the break on the bumper to bumper jam on the highway. Worst of all......they weren's wearing any seat belts and according to sis.......the windscreen was left with a huge crack - a result of the impact from the head banged against it!

Needless to say, our beloved Wira is the worst casualty of all...front and back badly hit! Let the pictures do the talking!

I didnt think it was that bad until sis sent the pictures to me! Boy! My first reaction??? - Thank goodness sis is not hurt and of course.....THANKS to the seat belts! I dare not think of the consequences of the impact should she not fasten the seat belts that day! Well, it's gonna take months before the car is completely fixed...what's with the way how our beloved JPJ work! I was told that it takes up to 10 days just to get the police report out! It would be fast for the workshop to get the car fixed...but it's the paperwork that's killing! Urgh!!!!!!!!
